HW-1880N OEM TTL RS232 USB Passport ID card MRZ OCR Fixed barcode reader for Self-service machine
Product Introduction
HW-1880 is a fixed-mount 2D barcode scanner engineered for embedding into automated self-service devices. It accommodates virtually all common barcode symbologies, including global standard 1D and 2D codes, MRZ Characters(OCR-A/OCR-B) on identity documents or passports, high-density long PDF417 on driver’s licenses, and inverted Datamatrix codes on Russian cigarette packaging. The device also offers anti-glare performance for outdoor scanning under sunlight, and is capable of reading printed barcodes, digital screen codes, as well as DPM (Direct Part Marking) codes—engraved or etched onto surfaces.
This product belongs to a versatile series with full-featured coverage, suitable for varied demands. In addition to standard versions, we support tailored solutions based on customer specifications, covering special needs, customized performance, and interfaces. Applications
Embedded barcode readers have extensive applications wherever scanning is required. Here are some real-world cases where this product has been successfully implemented:
1. Smart parcel lockers. Widely installed in residential compounds, campuses, and industrial zones, these lockers incorporate fixed barcode scanners inside.
2. Automated retail kiosks. Commonly seen in public spaces, these self-service machines use integrated barcode readers to scan items for stock tracking and to read payment QR codes from shoppers’ phones.
3. Intelligent waste collection stations. To improve waste management and support ecological efforts, many modern cities have introduced smart waste stations equipped with fixed barcode scanners that read QR codes from dedicated mobile apps, bridging digital systems and physical operations.
4. Manufacturing facilities. Along production assembly lines, scanning at each workstation feeds data into MES systems, helping maintain planned workflow and overall plant management.
