The HW-1280M-W is a compact 2D scan engine designed for OEM devices requiring both standard barcode and machine-readable zone (MRZ) reading capabilities. Powered by an Ingenic 1.2 GHz processor, 1 MP global-shutter CMOS sensor, and 120 fps capture, this module combines clear imaging with fast processing. The in-house decoding algorithm, refined over more than ten years of real-world projects, delivers dependable reading performance as a practical alternative to premium modules like the EM3088-W.

This engine reads 1D and 2D barcodes and supports ICAO 9303 TD1/TD2/TD3 MRZ formats. For TD1 ID cards and similar documents, the minimum MRZ reading distance can be as close as 40 mm; for TD3 passports, the minimum distance is 70 mm, making it ideal for projects requiring close-range MRZ capture.
