The HW-1220E is a lightweight industrial barcode scan engine engineered to decode low-contrast, laser-etched DPM (Direct Part Mark) codes on reflective substrates such as metal and plastic. It combines a 1280×800 global shutter CMOS sensor running at 120FPS with Ingenic's 1.2GHz 1660-series processor, delivering strong decoding performance and fast response for demanding manufacturing environments.

A standout feature is the tri-color LED illumination system. The engine starts with white LED light. If decoding fails, it automatically switches to red illumination to suppress glare on reflective surfaces—particularly metal—where white light intensifies reflection and prevents reliable barcode reading. If red also fails, blue illumination is activated as a final stage. This adaptive multi-stage lighting design directly addresses the specular reflection problem common in industrial barcode scanning on machined or polished parts.
