Many logistics and warehouse teams still issue a separate PDA for every picker. The HW-6680D takes a different route: it clips onto the back of a smartphone and lets that phone do the computing, the screen work and the app running — while the scanner handles the capture.
The HW-6680D is a back-clip 2D Bluetooth barcode scanner designed for 5–7 inch smartphones. The phone stays in the operator's hand, the screen stays visible, and the scanner rides behind it. Instead of paying for a dedicated handheld terminal that duplicates what a modern phone already does, teams use the device they already carry. For picking, inventory counts and delivery workflows, that combination covers most PDA-style scanning tasks in a lighter and more ergonomic form factor.
The 752×480 CMOS global shutter engine captures 1D barcodes and 2D QR codes on both paper labels and digital screens. That means UPC/EAN retail codes, Code 128 on cartons, PDF417 on shipping documents and QR codes on mobile displays all fall within the same scanning routine. No second device, no switching modes at the shelf.
On the floor, the HW-6680D pairs to Android or iOS devices over Bluetooth 4.0, with a working range around 20 meters. At a desk or a fixed station, the 2.4GHz RF dongle extends that range to roughly 100 meters and connects to a PC without relying on phone pairing. Instant upload and storage mode are both supported, with offline capacity around 10K records at Code128 — useful when the connection drops in a stockroom or a basement aisle.
Many back-clip scanners on the market ship with 1,000–1,200mAh cells, which translates to roughly 10 hours of mixed use. The HW-6680D carries a 3000mAh battery and is rated for at least 15 hours of work. For a full receiving shift or a double-count inventory day, that difference is the gap between finishing the count and hunting for a charging cable mid-aisle.
When barcode labels are not the only thing that needs reading, the HW-6680D can be specified with a UHF RFID reader operating at 860–915MHz, with output power adjustable from 1 to 27dBm. That opens up tag-based asset counting and stockroom bulk reads on the same phone-mounted platform. A pistol grip is also available and locks via four screws, giving operators a more stable hold during long scanning sessions.

Logistics receiving, warehouse picking and cycle counting, medical supply tracking, retail shelf audits and field service data capture — anywhere a phone is already in hand and a dedicated PDA adds cost without adding enough capability. The HW-6680D is not a PDA. It is the part of a PDA that a phone cannot do by itself.
