HW-1211 6.8mm Thickness 1D 2D QR Reader Global Shutter Compact Barcode Scanner Engine for POS&PDA Ticket Machine

For handheld terminals, point-of-sale systems, and compact self-service equipment, internal space is always tight. The HW-1211 is a 2D embedded barcode reader module that measures only 6.8 mm in thickness, 21.3 mm in width, and 8.8 mm in depth. At just 2 g, it fits into enclosures where standard scan engines simply cannot go. It is also a practical alternative to the Newland N1 in many N1-class applications.

The HW-1211 combines a global-shutter CMOS imager with an 800 MHz processing core. Global shutter captures the entire frame at once, avoiding rolling-shutter skew when codes or devices are in motion. The 800 MHz main-frequency processor helps shorten image handling and decoding time, making the module responsive in fast-paced workflows.

The 0.3 MP sensor delivers 640 × 480 resolution at 60 frames per second. It reads both printed and on-screen 1D and 2D barcodes, with minimum density of 4 mil for 1D and 5 mil for 2D symbols.

Supported 2D formats include QR Code, PDF417, DataMatrix (ECC200), Micro QR, Micro PDF417, Maxi Code, Aztec, and Hanxin. Common 1D symbologies such as EAN-13, Code 128, Code 39, UPC, and Interleaved 2 of 5 are also supported.

With a 42°(H) × 32°(V) field of view, the HW-1211 handles typical codes at useful distances:

Trigger modes include manual, continuous, auto-sensing, and host mode.

A 12-pin FFC with 0.5 mm pitch provides TTL232, USB HID-KBW, and virtual serial communication. The module runs on 3.3 V DC, drawing 200 mA maximum and 20 mA in standby.
