How to Bind Integrity Labels with a Barcode Scanner for Supply Chain Traceability?

Meta Description

Learn how Honorway barcode scanners and software bind product, box, and carton integrity labels, prevent duplicate barcodes, and export CSV/TXT data for customs declaration.

How to Bind Integrity Labels with a Barcode Scanner

An integrity label is a product label downloaded by a factory from the customer’s supplier management system. The quantity, label content, and serial number are fixed. Supplier factories cannot change them at will. From the supplier factory to customs declaration and then to customer warehouse receiving, every barcode must match one-to-one. This is a quality management system that all factories using integrity labels must follow. Honorway barcode scanners and companion PC software help factories digitally manage labels. Workers only need to follow the steps to avoid duplicate codes and mismatched codes, improve production efficiency, and ensure product traceability and quality.

Honorway models such as HW-3968B, HW-3980B, H10B, and HW-6322 are equipped with this barcode scanning system. The following explains how barcode scanning devices effectively ensure integrity code entry and binding.

1. Barcode Preset

Import integrity codes downloaded from the customer system into Honorway’s companion software, including product label codes, box label codes, and carton label codes. For example, if one product box contains 20 products and one carton contains 20 boxes, set this in the software in advance. The three barcode types must be entered into the customer system according to the preset quantities.

2. Barcode Scanner Scanning

After setting the barcode scanner to inventory mode, it remains in scanning status but will not scan duplicate barcodes. Duplicate barcode scanning is automatically disabled, so you do not need to worry about uploading duplicate barcodes to the customer system. During product label scanning, the scanner announces the current scanned count through its built-in speaker. When the preset quantity per box is reached, the scanner automatically stops scanning product labels and prompts the operator to scan the box label.

3. Binding the Three Label Types

Following step 2, after scanning 20 product labels, scan one box label. This means the 20 products are packed in this box. Repeat this cycle. After 20 boxes are packed, the software prompts the operator to scan the carton label. In this way, 20 boxes, or 400 products, belong to the current carton, and the label codes corresponding to the three barcode types are bound together.

4. Batch Export Data from the Software

When all goods are scanned and packed, all data is displayed in the software. Raw data can be exported directly in CSV or TXT format and used directly for customs declaration. This is extremely convenient.

Key Benefits of the Barcode Scanner and Companion Software

  • Avoid uploading duplicate barcodes.
  • Prevent scanning barcodes that do not match the preset integrity label barcode format.
  • Product labels, box labels, and carton labels are matched one-to-one, reducing packing quantity errors and improving traceability.
  • Data is saved in the software and can be exported as documents or uploaded to the customer system.
