HW-1870R ticket barcode scanner module is a mini 1D 2D barcode scanner module. Terminology:  barcode density

The density of a barcode is the number of characters represented by a unit length bar code. For the same number of characters, the density is mainly determined by the size of the module. The smaller the module size, the greater the density. Therefore, the density value is usually expressed in terms of the module size (mil). 5mil is more difficult to identify than 10mil. The scanning accuracy is not as high as possible, and the accuracy is too high. If the scanning size is relatively large, the barcode may be misread. In general, it is more appropriate to scan the light spot at about 0.8 times the minimum stripe width. The resolution of 5mil is approximately equal to 0.13mm, and the resolution of 3mil is approximately equal to 0.08mm. In the case of general product barcodes with a magnification factor of 0.8, the minimum bar space size is 0.26mm. So if scanning the barcode of a product, the scanning accuracy of 5mil is enough. 1mil is 1/1000 of an inch, which is about 0.0254 mm. 5mil = 0.0254 * 5 = 0.127mm.
