·        Password‑enabled mode – unlock first, configure later: When the password protection is activated, all ordinary setup codes are disabled. The user must first scan the “Enter Password” setup code and input the correct numeric password (2‑digit, left‑padded with zero if needed). Once verified, the scanner remains unlocked for the current power‑on cycle, allowing normal configuration changes.

·        Mode switching also requires password verification: Whether you are enabling or disabling the password protection mode, the system mandates password authentication – ensuring no loophole in permission control.

·        Password entry & modification: After scanning the corresponding entry code, scan the two‑digit numeric setup codes (e.g., “0” and “5” for 05). To change the password, simply scan the modification code followed by the new two‑digit combination (e.g., for new password “96”, scan “9” then “6”).

·        Logout for re‑locking: Authorized users can scan the “Logout” code after a successful unlock, forcing the device to re‑require password entry for the next configuration attempt – ideal for shared or shift‑based environments.
